Just leaving - and glad to be going!

10/26/08, 9:35 pm [Boston time] – Well, I was trying to get wireless signal, with no luck (unless I wanted to pay $7.95 to post a gripe]. So, T-90 minutes and counting… and I have already run into my first rudeness. At the (unattended, closed) security checkpoint I tried nearest my departure gate (and downstairs form a check-in), there was a group of people just standing around, waiting, and hoping that the gate would magically become staffed. They told me they had been waiting a while, and I (being the proactive little person I am) said that I was going to find out what was up. One of the group responded with, “Yes, you go find out and tell us.” Well, I must admit, I replied with more than a little incredulity, “Oh, so already you’re TELLING me what to do?” Huh… Okay, perhaps I overreacted a bit… But you should have heard the (albeit snide) FAVOR that person then asked for… I think I will be glad to be in another country. I will let it all roll off…. Just get me done with this 17-hour flight and layover odyssey!
